PASO NORTE PIPELINE GROUP, LLC ANNOUNCES OPEN SEASON FOR SHIPPER INTEREST FOR A PLANNED NATURAL GAS PIPELINE TO MEXICO.
Paso Norte Pipeline Group (PNP) is seeking shipper interest for its planned 32 inch pipeline from Luna County, New Mexico, US to the Mexican Border in the State of Chihuahua. This will be a 30 day Open Season beginning February 6 , 2018. This pipeline will link US natural gas production from the prolific Permian Basin, WaHa, to underserved markets in Central, Western Mexico, and terminate at the El Encino hub in Chihuahua, Mexico. The 33 mile US Paso Norte Pipeline is considered a Greenfield lateral pipeline project by FERC, and will interconnect with a corresponding 32 inch pipeline at the Mexican Border. It is Paso Norte’s intension to match US shippers with corresponding natural gas marketers in Mexico.
SPECIFICS OF THE PIPELINE
The Paso Norte Pipeline (PNP) will originate and interconnect with Kinder Morgan’s El Paso Natural Gas Southern Pipeline System (WaHa to California) at Florida Station. It will be a dedicated pipeline to the Mexican Border near the Columbus, N.M./Palomas, Chihuahua International Crossing. With the new and evolving Mexican Energy Laws in mind, the PNP pipeline will interconnect with a corresponding 32” Paso Norte Pipeline, Mexico. The Mexican pipeline will be an open access pipeline to accommodate the growing needs of natural gas in Western Chihuahua as well as addressing the El Encino Hub.
Paso Norte Pipeline Group is confident that Mexican downstream systems will be completed by anticipated PNP in service, third quarter 2019.
